(O) Jesus is teaching and preaching to the people in the Temple. He had a heart for the people to understand and receive the gospel. In the middle of his teaching, he is interrupted by a group who decided to question his authority and his call. I guess that wanted to hear Jesus exalt himself so they would have something to pin on him...but here, Jesus pushed that question back on their own minds where they would have you use their own conscience to decided what they really saw for themselves. He didn't have to justify his authority, it speaks for itself!
(A) The authority that I have IN Christ others may question, but I stand firm to know that IN Christ I have received so much and my life is evident that I am a believer and follower of Christ. I believe in him and I have received salvation so I don't have to answer and defend who I am in Christ because he has already made that known. I will continue to hold on to the faith I have received through Jesus no matter who questions it.
(P) Father, I thank you for the authority IN Jesus! I thank you for showing and manifesting your word in my life in so many ways that I don't have to verbally defend your authority! You have placed everything under the feet of Christ and your word says in Ephesians that Christ is seated at your right hand in the heavens far above all rule and authority, power and dominion, and every name that is invoked, not only in the present age but also in the one to come and that you placed all things under his feet and appointed him to be head over everything for the church, which is his body, the fullness of him who fills everything in every way. I thank you for Christ authority! In Jesus Name, Amen!
Apply It: The Authority in my life is Jesus! I have surrendered to Him...I realize in this life HE is the ultimate authority and that's just how I choose to live.
